Keeping It Pure

March 4th, 2008 . by Bryan A. McCarty

Aved Pure-formance

With its new men’s line hitting stores, Aveda, the Minnesota-based hair care company, is keeping things pure with Pure-formance. The line has been positioned as a sub-brand of Aveda and the packaging features high levels of post consumer recycled content. The package was designed by Minneapolis design firm Duffy & Partners.

This product is yet another example of a more sustainable product line from a company that has always pushed to keep things green and pure.

Aveda insist on using only the most ecologically sound ingredients in their products. They are also the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% certified wind power. The funding they gained for a new wind energy source generates enough wind energy to offset 100% of the electricity used by their primary manufacturing, distribution and headquarters facility in Minnesota. Wind energy is produced without air emissions like carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide, uses no water and requires no water treatment during production.

Men and women are different. That’s no secret. But their hair care needs are extremely different as well. Many people don’t know that. Aveda Men was created to address those different needs. So too, it called for a new brand presentation within the Aveda portfolio. The identity system and packaging are designed to be bold, confident and natural; just like the products themselves and the men who use them. Aveda Men. Man friendly. Earth friendly. ” - Duffy & Partners.
